MC511AF - Epoxy Glass Sheet
MC511AF is a high strength, medium weave glass epoxy laminate that retains a minimum of 50 percent of its room temperature flexural strength when tested at 150ºC. Typical applications include insulation in power generation equipment and other structural applications when used in elevated temperatures. MC511AF is certifiable to MIL-I-24768/3, Type GEB.

- IEC EP GC 203
MC511AF (NEMA G-11) is a high strength medium weight fiberglass epoxy resin composite that offers excellent physical, mechanical, and electrical properties at both room temperature and elevated temperatures. The product retains at least 50 percent of its room-temperature flexural strength at 150°C (E-1/150, T-150). In use, the product is often exposed to continuous temperatures as high as 155°C for up to a decade. And in short-term applications such as insulation in aerospace and defense systems, the material withstands temperatures in excess of 300°C. Halogen free to conform to European restrictions, MC511AF is specially formulated to meet exacting power generation standards requiring higher strength at elevated temperatures. MC511AF complies with the requirements of MIL-I-24768/3, Type GEB.

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) (formerly Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)) includes information such as the physical, health, and environmental health hazards of the material.
Brominated epoxy resin systems used in FR-4 and FR-5 materials were originally created to stop or retard potential fire hazards caused by over-heating or electrical failure resulting in arcing. While HBr is very effective at flame retardation, the resulting white smoke (HBr) can corrode copper, standard grade mild and stainless steels and most other metals. In 1998 NEMA updated their standards to differentiate G-10 and G-11 from FR-4 and FR-5. This update specifically excludes the use of bromine or other halogen flame retardants in the production of G-10 or G-11.
