MC504BRB - ShotBlocker™

MC504BRB - ShotBlocker™ is composed of woven roving glass fabric impregnated with a high-temperature phenolic resin system. This product is designed and manufactured to offer ballistic protection for a variety of applications from gas stations to armored vehicles. Unlike some competitive ballistic products, it does not require a messy and labor-intensive wet lay-up process. This product is suitable for molded parts in high-temperature structural applications. In 6-10 minutes, it can be molded into high strength, ballistic-resistant parts in standard compression molds at normal curing temperatures.

NP101B

NP101B pre-preg consists of woven nylon fabric combined with a high-temperature phenolic resin system. NP101B provides excellent electrical properties under high humidity conditions, good flexural, compressive, and impact strength at elevated temperatures, but the cold flow under load (creep) is higher at elevated temperatures than most other thermoset composites because the nylon substrate is a thermoplastic.

NP114B

NP114B pre-preg is composed of an electrical grade of epoxy resin (Tg = 175°C) combined with an aramid paper substrate. This grade of pre-preg does not use halogen flame retardants to obtain its flame retardant characteristics. This is essential since it cannot contain bromine in its primary application, high-temperature insulation in generators.

NP130B

NP130B pre-preg is a combination of a woven glass fabric combined with a flame retardant epoxy resin system. It can be molded into a composite with all of the excellent physical and electrical properties of NEMA Grade FR-4, in the sheet form. NP130B is an electrical and mechanical pre-preg and is suitable for terminal boards, mechanical and electrical parts up to 130°C, and in high humidity applications.

NP310B

NP310B pre-preg is a standard canvas grade that provides good mechanical properties and better impact strength than that offered by phenolic paper grades. This mechanical grade is suitable for gears, pinions, spacers, pulleys, and other structural applications.

NP310EB

NP310EB pre-preg is a semi-cured material that combines a medium-weave, cotton fabric substrate with an electrical grade phenolic resin system. In b-stage form, the material is partially cured to allow for final curing in the customer's application. The resulting part is easy to finish using standard wood or metal working tools, operates with less noise than metals in bearing and bushing applications, and is virtually non-abrasive in wear applications. It is suitable for use in explosion-proof environments. NP310B is used to make molded gears, pulleys, rollers, and guides, as well as electrically insulated parts such as control boards or transformer bases, for small dry type transformers.

NP320EB

NP320EB offers better machining characteristics than canvas phenolic grades, because it is produced from a fine-weave (linen) cotton fabric, combined with an electrical grade of phenolic resin. In b-stage form, the fiber reinforced composite materials are only partially cured to allow for final curing in the customer's application. Besides easy and clean machining, NP320EB operates with less noise than metal and is less abrasive than fiberglass alternatives in wear applications. It is suitable for explosion-proof environments. Designed for smaller and more intricate shapes than those made with canvas grades and better electrical properties than NP320B, this product is commonly used to make gears, pulleys, rollers, and guides, as well as electrically insulative parts.

NP342B

NP342B is composed of a medium-weight canvas combined with a phenolic resin system. This material offers better machining properties than grade C and lower cost than grade L offerings. This electro-mechanical grade is suitable for gears, terminal boards, and machined parts.

NP343LB

NP343LB pre-preg is composed of a fine-weave (linen) cotton fabric combined with a phenolic resin, enhanced with a solid molybdenum disulfide powdered lubricant that reduces wear and friction in most applications. The final composite is easy to machine, operates with less noise than metal. It is suitable for use in explosion-proof environments.

NP504B

NP504B is composed of a woven glass fabric combined with a high-temperature phenolic resin system. In the fully cured form, NP504B has good flexural, compressive and impact strength at elevated temperatures. The phenolic resin system also gives the product excellent creep resistance. NP504B is suitable for a variety of structural applications, as well as honeycomb wall panels on navy ships and aircraft.

NP509FB

NP509FB is composed of a fine-weave woven glass fabric and an electrical grade of melamine resin. Featuring high arc resistance and structural strength, this very hard machining grade also offers flame and arc resistance and excellent electrical properties. The product is suitable for industrial grade fuse bodies and other parts requiring arc and flame resistance.

NP510AB

NP510AB pre-preg is composed of woven glass fabric impregnated with a brominated epoxy resin (Tg = 130°C). It is designed to provide electrical insulation in high humidity environments. This pre-preg product offers consistent quality and good electrical properties. With proper cure, the finished product is capable of being listed with Underwriters Laboratories to the UL 94 V-0 flammability classification. It also offers NEMA grade FR-4 properties when pressed into a composite. Possible applications include lapping carriers, disk and microelectronics polishing, and molded shapes in various industries.

NP511B

NP511B pre-preg is composed of a high temperature electrical grade of epoxy resin (Tg = 170°C) combined with a woven glass substrate. This grade of pre-preg is not flame retardant. With a non-brominated resin system, the product offers high mechanical strength at temperatures up to 170°C. Properly cured, it will retain half its room temperature flexural strength at elevated temperatures (150°C, after conditioning at 150°C for one hour). It can be produced on any glass style for non-G11 applications. This electrical-mechanical grade is suitable for rotor slot insulation, steel coating, and honeycomb wall panels.

NP513B

NP513B is a pre-preg composed of a high temperature, electrical grade epoxy resin (Tg= 170°C), combined with a woven glass substrate. This grade of pre-preg is not flame retardant. With a non-brominated resin system, the product offers high mechanical strength at temperatures up to 170°C. Properly cured, it will retain 50% of its room temperature flexural strength at elevated temperatures (150°C, after conditioning at 150°C for one hour), E-1/150, T-150. NP513B is softer than NP511B making it easier to form until its final cure. This electro-mechanical grade is suitable for power generator slot insulation.

NP629B

NP629B is paper phenolic pre-preg that provides good machining properties and fair mechanical strength when molded under heat and pressure. It is designed for electrical insulating applications, and this pre-preg is used in molded switch panel boards, relay and switch bases, breaker arms, and barriers.
